Needs Assessment workshop for Youth Coalition and selected NGOs

E-Methanex, a new company operating in the Damietta governorate in Egypt, needed technical assistance to build the capacity of its sustainability team and equip them with the necessary tools to develop closer ties with the community and its stakeholders.

CID Inc. took a grass-roots approach in designing programs for E-Methanex’s community development investments, based on an adequate understanding of grass root needs and impediments.  CID Inc. built the capacity of local partners in the villages of Senaneya and Kafr El-Batikh in the identified development areas, by bringing together local partners from both communities to attend a targeted evidence-based training program to strengthen the capacity of local organizations and facilitate interaction with the E-Methanex team.
CID Inc. empowered E-Methanex and its community partners in their community development activities through:
  • Conducting a capacity needs assessment workshop for the targeted youth coalitions and NGOs
  •   Training on brainstorming as a method for conducting a participatory needs assessment
  •   Training on setting community needs driven priorities and criteria to project design in collaboration with E-Methanex
  • Conduct coaching and follow up session with the relevant trainees.

Community relevant programs were designed and E-Methanex successfully positioned itself as an investor in developing its local partners’ capacity. CID Inc. continues to implement and monitor the initiatives, in strategic coordination with the enterprise, it’s partners and beneficiaries. To this end, the team provides ongoing capacity building to relevant stakeholders in the process to ensure the efficient implementation of the community investment framework.
