Methodology for Mainstreaming Gender in Policy and Planning: Training Program

In 2003, CID Inc. was contracted by the Institute of International Education (IIE) through its Development Training 2 Project (DT2) to conduct a training program on mainstreaming gender considerations in policy and planning.
 
Training was delivered to participants from different NGOs across Egypt.
 
The project enabled participants to:
  • Identify and describe gender disparities in their sector / organization
  • Learn about new tools to conduct gender audits
  • Explore ways of engaging in dialogue with decision-makers about gender disparities
  • Explore inventory skills needed to incorporate gender into organizational development
  • Plan in-house institutional events to create gender awareness in policy planning
  • Understand the difference between Women in Development (WID) and Gender and Development (GAD) approaches.
